She painted a rug on her front steps. If I could find her comment page, I would tell her about Frogtape: Painters tape gone ballistic. Seriously, ordinary painter's tape lets a lot of paint under the edge. Frogtape is so much better at sealing the edges - on most surfaces.
Don't know if they can get it in the 'States, or is this a Canada only thing!
